Peacemakers (PEMA)

PEMA is a community-based organization which supports HIV/AIDS orphans, vulnerable children and people living with HIV/AIDS, guardians and grandparents. Their vision is to promote peace, hope and grace to the less fortunate; to be God's hands that reach out to provide a loving touch to the hurting people. PEMA activities include group therapy for all living with HIV/AIDS, skills training to empower women economically and educational support of children. Coordinator: Gladys Gitonga www.pemactc.or.ke

As part of their vocational training, the women of PEMA design and make beautiful jewelry. This intricately hand-crafted jewelry is created from traditional methods and native materials. The purchase of this jewelry has a direct financial effect on the lives of families in PEMA. For photos and more information link to www.pemactc.or.ke or click here to see more examples of this breathtaking craft.
