The Miriam Kanana Mubichi Foundation promotes socio-economic
development primarily within Central Meru, Kenya by developing and supporting projects of education/literacy, health care/nutrition, and resource management training.

Current projects include:
Education/Literacy
Construction of a school/community library at Kaaga Primary School. Estimated Cost: $5600
Reading Baraza(Camp)- Portable library and reading activities taken to rural schools
NANA’S for Life-support group for grandparents raising grandchildren in the community-approximately 150 participants.
Educational Scholarships- Average Annual school fee (books, uniforms, room & board) $180
Health Care/Nutrition
Health Baraza(Camp)-Volunteers provide free medical check-ups and treatment, training in proper nutrition, prevention of malaria, de-worming, oral hygiene, safe sanitation, etc…
Free medical care for at least 10,000 people in various locations in the community. Estimated Cost (Medications, supplies, transportation, tents, food): $5500
School Feeding Program- Daily meal provided for 150 students
School improvements- installation of pit latrines, cement flooring, water tank (for drinking water)
Mosquito Net Distribution
Resource Management
School improvements: Purchase of tables, desks, bookshelves, resurface and construction of floors and walls. Estimated cost: $1500
Makena Textile Co-Op: Promotes financial independence for women through skilled trade-weaving textiles. MKMF offers marketing support and promotion.
